Case Study - Intapeople

I recently partnered with Intapeople to help them onboard and train 3 trainee hires.

I designed and delivered a bespoke assessment plan, conducted DISC assessments, and was present throughout the process to support them with their hiring, training, and coaching.

 

The Problem

Intapeople were looking to scale their business, so needed some more recruitment consultants on their team, but as recruiters themselves, they were aware of the lack of experienced talent due to the uncertainty caused by the pandemic.

Although they understood the benefits of hiring trainees and had done it before, they lacked the time and resources to hire and onboard ‌talent with no‌ ‌previous‌ ‌experience and wanted some help with business development training as it was an important area for them.

My Solution

Throughout the hiring process, I provided them with the support they needed to select the candidates that showed potential in recruitment. Intapeople have a fantastic company culture, so it was important that any new hires were a good match. I ran DISC assessments on any potential hires, so they were able to get an insight on their potential hires throughout the interview stage.

Once hired, I delivered in-person group training, allowing the new hires to settle in, understand their new role, and learn the skills need to succeed in recruitment. Reducing Intapeople’s time and resources spent on managing their new hires as they continued to scale.

At the final stage of the plan, I delivered one-to-one coaching, helping them embed what they learned throughout their training into their new roles as recruitment consultants.

The Result

With my support, Intapeople were able to successfully hire 3 new consultants and improve their hiring processes for graduate/trainee hires. They also added extra consultants into the training for the Business Development modules which added enhanced the performance of some of their 360 consultants.

With first placements being made in months 1 and 2, and a total of 8 clients won between them, I’m so proud of what they achieved in such a short space of time. By month 3 they were confident in the recruitment process, managing their own desks effectively and getting consistent interview requests for their candidates.

DISC Case Studies:

Two personal recounts of times I completed DISC assessments for recruitment agencies to help them understand themselves and their working relationships more.

 
  1. I was commissioned to complete a DISC assessment with a temp agency in 2021 who were hiring and wanted to use it as part of their interview process. I DISC profiled the two candidates who they decided to assess and briefed the Director and Operations Manager on the results, so they could gain a more thorough understanding of the person. I then designed interview questions based on their profiles to explore the different elements of their behaviours and gain real-world examples from them. I led each interview so both managers could listen effectively and make a well-judged decision on who to hire. Both candidates ended up being hired and are thriving within the agency. The Director and Operations Manager now use the results to help them when managing each individual.

  2. An agency I was already working with decided to DISC profile each consultant and have a team building session so they could work together more cohesively, but use the knowledge gained to understand their clients and candidates better. Both Directors were briefed on each Consultants profile, to aid their management techniques, and each consultant sat down for a coaching session around their profile prior to the team building session. Each consultant feedback how helpful it was in regards to understanding each other’s behaviours in the office, but also how much they benefitted from the added self-awareness it gave them.
